Composite Tailors develops and manufactures CFRP space optical telescopes that can be a "Game Changer of Space Optics."
By replacing all glass and low-thermal-expansion metal components of conventional space telescopes with CFRP, we achieve dramatic improvements in both weight and productivity.
Achieves a 1/2 to 1/3 weight reduction compared to conventional glass-mirror telescopes. This expands design possibilities for small satellites with strict mass budgets.
Mirror fabrication that previously required months with glass can now be completed in days, enabling significantly shorter lead times and high-volume production.
Achieves a CTE on the order of 10-7 /K. This enables athermal optical designs because the mirror and structure are all made of CFRP.
*Early space demonstration model – scheduled for 2026

CFRP telescopes serve as mission payloads for low-Earth-orbit optical Earth observation constellations, contributing to land management, disaster monitoring, and environmental conservation.
As optical systems for free-space optical communication terminals, they are also expected to play a broad role — from inter-satellite links and HAPS to Earth-to-lunar communication.
